Online card payments carry the card network's standard processing fee plus a small 1% platform fee — never a commission on your art, and never a cut of cash taken in the chair. Payment plans (Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm) pay you in full up front; when a client picks one, that payment runs at the provider's standard rate instead of the card rate — your call, one toggle.
Yes — free forever, not a trial, no card to sign up. Your page, your link, real-time booking, and card deposits all work on Free. You only ever pay the money rule: card processing + 1% when a client pays through your page. If nobody pays, you pay nothing.
When a client pays through your page, the card networks take their standard processing cut and TakingClients adds 1% flat. That's the entire fee story — no booking fees to clients, no commission on your work, and cash you take in the chair is invisible to us. Paid tiers are optional flat subscriptions on top.
You're paid in full, immediately. A client can split a deposit or a balance into installments with Klarna, Afterpay, or Affirm at checkout — the provider pays you the whole amount up front and collects the installments themselves, so a missed installment is their problem, never yours. That payment runs at the provider's standard rate (about 6% + 30¢) plus the same 1%, instead of the card rate — only when a client actually picks a plan, and there's a toggle in Payouts if you'd rather stay card-only. Big pieces book easier when nobody has to front $600 at once.
You keep the deposit. That's what it's for. The policy is shown in plain words under the pay button — the deposit holds the slot, goes toward the total, and is kept on no-show or short-notice cancellation. Clients agree to it before paying, and we snapshot exactly what they agreed to.
